Restaurant, Lounge and Café in Edinburgh

A hospitality development in Edinburgh combined a restaurant, lounge and café within a series of connected spaces, requiring a discreet background music system that could maintain a consistent atmosphere throughout the day. Each area had a different function, occupancy level and acoustic character: the café required light and unobtrusive music, the restaurant needed warm and even coverage, whilst the lounge required greater depth and energy during evening service. A distributed zoned design allowed each area to operate with independent source and volume control, enabling staff to adjust the atmosphere for breakfast, daytime service, evening dining and private hospitality events. Equipment positions were integrated with ceilings, lighting and interior finishes, whilst gentle equalisation maintained warmth, clarity and comfortable listening at low levels. The completed installation provides smooth transitions between the café, dining and lounge areas, supports conversation naturally and remains visually discreet within the interior design.
